Raman Raghav 2.0 released in India on 1 June 2016. It was eventually shown commercially in its uncensored version, which received mixed response from critics. He also praised Siddiqui's performance in the film, calling it "the most chilling, most thrilling performance by any actor. The big problem with cinema, however, apart from the dreaded length, is in the relentless obsession with duplicating. Every pseudo-originality or experiment that invents a new mechanical trick is one more nail in the coffin of cinema".
