The following settings were used to capture the image above: Color model: RGB Color sampling: 256x256 White balance: Shade Brightness: -12 Contrast: 2 Gamma: 2.2 Lens corrections: None
In the above images we've added a blend mode of Color Dodge and an adjustment layer at levels of -110, -110, 29 and 46 respectively. We wanted a gradual transition, so the blend mode seems the best approach. If you use it, you can also adjust the opacity of the blend mode layer by moving the slider all the way to the left, or by entering an opacity setting. The negative values keep the original image from affecting the final appearance of the image. Remember to use percentage settings rather than absolute values to avoid stray pixels.
In order to level the image further, we added a Curves adjustment layer with two graduated settings at levels of -31 and 33 respectively setting the blend mode to Screen. A Clipping Mask was also added to keep the bottom border. The settings used were: Levels 16, °0/2, °20/-20, °0/99, °0/30.
