The Jungle Book, which was first released in 1967, was nominated for best animated feature at the 37th Academy Awards in 1968 but lost to Oliver & Company. When the film was remade in India in 1997, it became the first Indian Disney film to be remade in India. The movie, which also became the first Disney animated film to win an Indian National Film Award, was a financial success and won the National Film Award for the Best Children's Film. Hindi cinema's first animation film, the Nepali film Kajolraatri, was inspired by The Jungle Book.
The Jungle Book, which stars Neel Sethi, Sunny Pawar, Jackie Shroff, Fawzia Mirza, Ila Arun, Naseeruddin Shah, Amruta Khanvilkar, Om Puri, Jackie Shroff, Mouni Roy and David Dhawan, is a remake of the 1967 Disney animated film. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film takes place in Bombay in the 1930s and follows Mowgli (Shanti Roney), a human boy raised by wolves in the jungle after being abandoned by his own family. He befriends Bagheera (Shah), a black panther, and meets other animals like Baloo (Om Puri), the bear, and Shere Khan (Naseeruddin Shah), the tiger.

In order to return to the human world, Mowgli must face the dangers of a wolf pack and the conflicts of loyalty that come from the choices he must make.
I'm not sure how much of an ethical issue there is in a movie like this. It's not a movie that really deals with the values of the characters of the jungle. Mowgli is a man-cub. He's raised like one. It's not until he's an adult that he can make moral choices. Likewise, Shere Khan is a ferocious, bloodthirsty tiger. These are not thinking, reasoning creatures who can make conscious decisions. They are simply animals that go with the flow, do what they're told, and adhere to the status quo. The jungle is based on the concept of survival of the fittest. These animals don't have the concept of love. They don't have morality. They just do what's in the best interest of their species.
